Hutchison Ports ECT introduces new surcharges for all road transport
11 December 2023
Effective January 1, 2024, terminal operator Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam is introducing two new road transport surcharges: a Climate Fee and a Spreading Fee. These charges will be passed on for each terminal visit to ECT Delta and ECT Euromax.
From January 1, 2024, terminal operator Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam is introducing two new surcharges for road transport: a Climate Tariff and a Distribution Surcharge.
The Climate Tariff is part of the terminal’s sustainability program. The charge is €2.50 per truck, per visit to the terminal. With the exception of electric/zero-emission trucks, these are excluded from this scheme. This applies to both the ECT Delta and the ECT Euromax Terminal.
To better maintain traffic and congestion, a Distribution Surcharge will also be introduced. The cost for this is €13.50 per truck. This applies to any truck visiting ECT Delta and/or ECT Euromax Terminal on weekdays between 05:00 and 19:00.
It is important to note that these surcharges apply per terminal visit. A driver makes 2 visits to the terminal per container transport: 1x to pick up the full container and 1x to return the empty container. So if he/she reports twice a day between 05:00 and 19:00 with the same container, the cost is 2x €13,50 + 2x €2,50 = €32,00.
