Agents’ Meeting 2025: on the road to success together

Agents’ Meeting 2025: on the road to success together

On 18 March 2025, the annual Far East Container Line (FECL) agents’ meeting took place once again. Cargo Services brings a multitude of European agents together at this event to share market information together and discuss strategic collaborations. This time, Amsterdam was the host city for the meeting. Ritra’s Martijn and Patty attended as the Dutch representatives and are keen to bring you up to date!

Exclusive collaboration within FECL agent network

To strengthen collaboration, all agents affiliated to the Far East Container Line (FECL) meet at a different location once a year. Ritra Cargo has been the exclusive representative for the Netherlands since 2002 within the FECL network for logistics service providers. The global network of agents plays a key role in the logistics chain and safeguards quality, flexibility, and fair rates.

International gathering

The meeting saw all affiliated agents come together. The international ensemble has members from countries such as Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, and Spain. There will be space for expansion in the near future and even more countries will be added to this agent network.

Patty: Cargo Services, our agent in China, is the initiator for these meetings. As such, they gave several presentations and had organised the meeting down to the last detail.”

Main agenda items

In additions to presentations for all those invited, there was also plenty of time for valuable one-to-one meetings during this conference. The meeting provided useful insights and new, strategic opportunities for all participants. A number of items were key to the agenda:

  • How can we build on our business relationships?
  • A market analysis: what are the latest developments?
  • The impact of macro-economic factors and micro-economic factors on (our) businesses and how to respond to them;
  • New collaboration opportunities within the network.

Time for relaxation

After two intensive days full of enduring meetings, the last day concluded with a relaxed drink in the hotel lobby. Various delicacies were available between sessions and there was a buffet lunch. Afterwards, guests enjoyed a delicious and relaxed dinner in the restaurant.

Patty: “Many said the dinner was absolutely to Michelin star standard. The meal options were varied, with a focus on nutritious dishes. “All those present complimented the choice of hotel in Amsterdam. It offered the perfect location with excellent catering, comfortable accommodation, and a professional meeting environment.”
