Chinese New Year puts pressure on shipping capacity
24 December 2016
At the end of January, Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival, will be celebrated in China. From January 27th to February 2nd, the whole country is on holiday for 6 days. This is one of the most important vacation times in China. It also has implications for all exports from China.
Register your shipment on time
During the Chinese New Year, working hours will reduce throughout the country. In addition, attendance at various companies will be reduced because many choose to take some time off in advance also.
Would you like to ship goods around this time period? Then it is important that you register your shipment on time and that goods are delivered on time. Otherwise they will be shipped after the Chinese New Year. Please also note that other importers will send their shipments earlier, so there will be additional pressure on vessel capacity in the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year.
