Goodbye amazing team! Looking back with pride

After more than 26 years, I am leaving Ritra Cargo. At the end of an era, there is often a strong tendency to look back on what has been and perhaps what could have been. Of course there are anecdotes and tall tales. I guess they have a place. Looking at the Ritra organisation as it stands today and the passionate people who nurture and create it, I am proud to have been able to contribute to its development. Just like the other colleagues, before, with and after me.


After all, we identify as ’the personal, ICT-driven forwarder’. These days, I often hear the question whether a freight forwarder is Digital or Traditional, and where Ritra stands. As part of Ritra, I think that is a very strange discussion. In a world that is always giving new technical and digital developments that allow us to provide ever better service to customers, it is normal for us to take advantage of these opportunities. This is how to take an organisation – and the value for the customers – to the next level. Based on this concept, Ritra’s digital world has been developed over the years. Our platform, Tracos, gives all relations the ability to connect and share data and have realtime access to information. So far for the IT part.


The “C” in ICT is the other important factor. Communication with all customers, partners in the supply chain, government and colleagues is the leading factor to organise the supply chain with increasing effectiveness and efficiency. Keeping each other up to date with developments, creating partnerships and always looking for opportunities and improvements. All of this must always combine to improve customer service. And to make that happen, we take a personal approach through a dedicated point of contact for each client, large or small. After all, the customer is the focus.


For me, Ritra is and always will be the company with the passionate colleagues. Everyone goes to great lengths to fulfil their duties, every person in every department. All focused on doing the very best for the customer together.


That, precisely that, is what I am so grateful for, and what I will miss the most.
In other words: my farewell to a personal, ICT-driven forwarder.
