Problems sea freight from China
6 May 2024
A lot of problems are expected in sea freight from China in the coming months. This is due to the ongoing situation in the Red Sea and the Middle East. Sea freight rates continue to rise, there is a shortage of empty containers and less space on ships.
Many containers are currently not loaded on scheduled sailing at the port of loading or transhipped at any intermediate port. In addition, shipping companies are offering 40% fewer sailings compared to April and ships are already fully booked until the third week of May.
These problems also cause shipping schedules to be off. As a result, you as a shipper have to reckon with increased chances of delays. Make sure you book in time, at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance.
