Servicemailing: situation at Rotterdam terminals still worrisome
20 March 2025

Several weeks ago we informed you about the worsening handling situation at Rotterdam container terminals. Unfortunately, in the intervening period we have had to conclude that the situation is still, very worrying.
For example, we are still dealing with multiple rotation changes on a daily basis. Meanwhile, shipping lines no longer limit themselves to diverting to “main ports” such as Antwerp, Hamburg, Le Havre and Felixstowe. Since last week, containers have even been unloaded in much less obvious ports such as Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Lisbon, due to the filling up of northern European ports.
Despite the confusing situation and mostly limited, available information, our staff makes every effort to keep you informed of the latest developments, adjustments and changes to sailing schedules. In addition, we are of course continuously in good contact with shipping companies -who, however, are often not 100% sure locally of what is about to happen- to follow the further progress of shipments.
Once again, we ask for your understanding for this exceptional situation. If you have any further questions regarding this mailing we kindly ask you to contact your sales contact.
