Original message 15.09.25:
Borders between Poland and Belarus closed
We would like to inform you about the provisional and rather unexpected announcement by the Polish railway infrastructure manager PKP PLK (Polish State Railways) to close all borders between Poland and Belarus from 12 to 16 September 2025. During this period, all activities at the Terespol railway border crossing between Malaszewicze (Poland) and Brest (Belarus) will be suspended.
For shipments that have already passed through Poland, the expected arrival time may be delayed by approximately 5 days. Shipments that have not yet crossed the border will go through the normal customs formalities and transhipment procedures after reopening. However, this may be delayed due to the backlog that has built up in recent days.
So far, shipments handled by Ritra Cargo have not been significantly affected. Most of the goods have already passed through the Polish border crossing, and others left the station of origin in China a few days ago.
Nevertheless, we will closely monitor the latest developments and keep you informed if the situation changes. If you have any questions, please contact your Ritra Cargo representative.
