Update situation Pakistan July 2025
17 July 2025
Earlier, we informed you about the tensed relationship between Pakistan and India. Its consequences, including delays, price increases and changes in shipping routes, unfortunately still apply to shipments departing from Pakistan.
With ongoing, geopolitical tensions between the two countries, we find that the situation has even worsened in the meantime. The problems lead to unreliable sailing schedules, uncertain lead times and overcrowded quays in Karachi.
To give you an idea of the scale and complexity of the problems, we hereby share a recent example with you. Yesterday, on the scheduled day of departure, we received the notification that the vessel owner of mv. CMA CGM Musca had decided not to dock in Karachi on this day, due to safety concerns. The containers, which had been on the quay in Karachi since 12 July last, were scheduled for departure over a week and a half later, on 28 July next.
Unfortunately, we cannot rule out that this will happen more often. Our local agent in Pakistan keeps us updated daily on the latest developments. Nevertheless, due to the lack of third-party information, we may sometimes not be able to provide you with the service you are used to from us. We hope for your understanding.
